The Works of Ryan Staus

Originally from the great state of Texas, Ryan now calls South Carolina home, and has for many years.  His professional art career started with freelance graphic design and illustrations.  It was, however, never as fulfilling as getting his hands dirty and the floor a little messy.

His paintings are built slowly with many light layers, to create a depth only found through oil paints.  He prefers to paint in a photo-realistic style with a nod to classic Dutch masters.  His chalk art tends to explore a more colorful and fantastic style, considering his all-time favorite artist, Dr. Seuss, along with modern master fantasy artists such as Jeff Miracola, Frank Frazetta, and H.R. Giger.  As Ryan continues to explore spray paint as a new medium, he hopes to continue to advance in whimsical and exciting, larger than life murals, taking inspiration from artist like Mad C and Gnasher
